hut floors implemented in a unique way. Bruce definitely knows how to bring beauty out of various traditions in a distinctive way. According to Bruce Stafford, “Nested in the undulating hills of the natal midlands, Leadwood lodge reflects the surrounding landscape and indigenous organic architecture in its sweeping forms and circular shapes. The surrounding hills yielded the natural slate rock for the dry packed stone walls and dead tree trunks were used as columns. Concrete tinted floors, polished with wax were inspired by traditional African hut floors which are made of cow dung and polished with animal fat.”
